Food Services

Meeting your nutritional needs is delicious and convenient at Saint Francis Healthcare. Our food services offer a wide range of great meals, including grilled items and healthy treats. Here’s what to expect from our food services during your visit.

Inpatient Hospital Dining

Your doctor may prescribe a special diet designed to help you feel your best and recover more quickly. Registered dietitians are available to counsel you on the diet your doctor has ordered. Dietitians will also answer any questions you have concerning nutrition and can evaluate your nutritional status. Occasionally, you may not receive a meal or food requested due to a special test or diet restriction.

During your stay at the hospital, an employee of the dietary department will visit daily to receive your food selection for the next day’s meals. This will be done in a timely manner to ensure your food preferences will be honored as soon as possible. You will be offered a variety of foods within your prescribed diet to select from during your hospital stay. Sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts are always available.

If You Miss a Meal

In the event you miss a meal due to testing, you may call the nursing staff to request an off schedule tray. This tray should be delivered to you within a 30-minute time frame. You may not receive the meal or food item you requested originally, but we will make a comparable substitution.

Meeting Your Needs

The Dietary Department will make every effort to provide special meals to meet your needs. Check with your nurse or dietician for assistance. Special religious, ethnic, or personal dietary needs may be met upon request. If between meal snacks are needed or requested, they will be provided. Beverages such as coffee, milk, and juice are available on each floor. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary while hospitalized, please let us know so that we can help you celebrate.
