Sherwin L. Stewart, Ph.D., is appointed to the position of CEO of Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.

Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, along with Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis, comprises Tenet Healthcare’s two-hospital system in the Memphis area, Saint Francis Healthcare.

“Sherwin is an experienced healthcare leader with a track record of developing clinical programs to improve access to specialty care and promoting clinical and operational excellence. He is also well-respected for his leadership approach that is highly collaborative with medical staff and for fostering an inclusive care team environment,” said Matthew Stone, Central Group President for Tenet Healthcare.

Stewart has 30 years of healthcare experience that includes advancing in healthcare leadership roles throughout the Southeastern United States. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Operations for Sentara Health’s CarePlex Hospital and Port Warwick divisions in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.

Stewart earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree and his Master of Sciences in Management degree from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. He received his Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is also a Graduate Professor for New England College’s MBA program and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE).
