Bartlett, TN – Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is pleased to honor registered nurse Ahmad Abu-Halimeh as its most recent Daisy RN Award recipient.

Abu-Halimeh joined the Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett team in February 2018 and he currently resides in Cordova.

Abu-Halimeh was nominated for the award by a former patient. The nomination reads, in part: “He is a very caring and gentle nurse who explained my medications and care to me in a way I could understand. He showed compassion and knowledge with each thing he did for me. He helped to make sure I had answers to questions that I could understand. He was professional and gentle. He even helped my daughter gent assistance with home health as we prepared for discharge. What a wonderful example of a nurse!”

“The most rewarding thing about being a nurse is the impact on people’s lives,” said Abu-Halimeh. “I feel honored and happy to receive the Daisy Award! This recognition will motivate me to work harder and keep doing what I love best which is taking care of patients. Being a nurse means you will make a difference in patients’ and their families’ lives. Personally, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett holds a special place in my heart because I began my journey in nursing at this hospital. I feel valued and appreciated. We have supportive management and great co-workers. We are just like a big family! My advice for aspiring nurses is to follow their passion and goals. Stay focused, have empathy and deliver the best care possible in a safe manner. Be kind and mindful and always remember that talent will take you far and hard work will take you anywhere!”

Saint Francis Healthcare awards nominated nurses with The Daisy Award. The award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they stated a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manor.
