Rev. Albert Leornes Greene, better known as American singer Al Green, received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis Thursday.

Green, 74, is best known for recording a series of well-known soul hit singles in the early 1970s, including “Let’s Stay Together”, “Love and Happiness”, and “Tired of Being Alone”. Green is the pastor at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Memphis and he is a strong advocate of everyone getting vaccinated when they can, especially members of the African-American community.
