Darth Vader is alive, well and currently working as a surgery tech at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.

Darthvader Williamson could have been taken by the dark side but instead he used the light side of the force to do good by starting a career in healthcare. He is committed to defending the Jedi Order and serving his patients in the Bartlett community.

Thursday, May 4th is Star Wars Day. Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is celebrating May the Fourth be With You by sharing Darthvader’s story, how his name came to be and how he found a passion for helping others. are his story that you are welcome to use. 

Darthvader works with the hospital’s robots and technology including the hospital’s new state of the art imaging system. Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett is the first hospital in the Memphis area to acquire the O-arm® Multidimensional Imaging. The O-arm combines the technology of a CT scan with virtual navigation, and will be primarily utilized by Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett’s surgeons during spine surgeries. The system provides three-dimensional, high quality images before, during and after procedures. This can result in more precision by the surgeon, and can help reduce the risk of unnecessarily touching a patient's nerves, muscle, tissue or bone.
