When it comes to helping others, Saint Francis Hospital–Memphis employees are committed to more than patient care, they strive to make a difference in the community as well.  Just before Thanksgiving, employees raised $1000 to help feed Memphis families in need.   Hospital Leaders matched the employee contribution amount, bringing their contribution level to $2,000.  With this money, 200 families were able to have a thanksgiving dinner.  Support for the Mid-South Food Bank will continue in December with a food drive.

To raise the money prior to Thanksgiving, the staff organized a raffle of two bikes with safety helmets, which were donated by our auxiliary volunteers. Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary Furnishes Inpatient Rehab Transitional Suite

Trasitional Suite

A special thank you to our volunteers for providing the furniture for our transitional suite in inpatient rehabilitation.  Auxiliary volunteers are pictured with Christa Polk, nurse manager for inpatient rehab.  Polk thanked the group for the work they did this year to furnish the room which actually includes a bedroom, living room and bathroom. She said the room is important in helping patients transition before returning home and experience situations in a traditional setting rather than just a hospital room.  The room provides opportunities for them to practice what they have learned before going home.  The Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary holds different fund raising activities throughout the year to help with special projects and outreach opportunities.
