Diabetes Care Center
Living with diabetes can be overwhelming at times, but learning more about this complex disorder can help you to manage it better. Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis’ Diabetes Care Center offers programs to educate and assist if you’ve recently been diagnosed with diabetes or you’re currently managing the disorder. We’re an American Diabetes Association-recognized program staffed by dietitians and nurse certified diabetes educators.
Our nurses are specially trained to:
- Manage a diabetes crisis
- Assist patient and family in the education process
- Manage IV insulin infusion
- Manage continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion
- Perform bedside blood sugar testing
- Provide follow-up education
Diabetes Support Group
Our support group is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Saint Clare Hall. The Support Group is designed to offer continuing education and emotional support to those with diabetes who must care for themselves. No appointment or physician order is necessary to attend, and meetings are open to the public.
