cereal drive volunteers“The donations we collected during our Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive will help provide local children and adults struggling with hunger with a healthy breakfast during the summer, and I am so grateful for the support of our staff and community in this effort,” said Dr. Audrey Gregory, market chief executive officer, Saint Francis Healthcare. “Good nutrition is essential to good health, and we want to help lead the fight against hunger across the Mid-South.”

cereal drive eating competition“We are grateful to Saint Francis Healthcare and its parent company, Tenet Healthcare, for hosting the Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive and to everyone who participated,” said Estella Mayhue-Greer, president and chief executive director, Mid-South Food Bank. “This collective effort and outpouring of support is amazing! Summer is a particularly tough time for many families because children are home from school and no longer have access to nutritious meals at school. This places an added financial strain on families struggling to eat healthy on limited budgets. The impact of the cereal drive helps us meet this need and ensures children have year-round access to healthy meals. We cannot thank Tenet Healthcare and Saint Francis Healthcare enough for their leadership in addressing this critical community health issue.”
