Saint Francis Healthcare Names Olivia Simmons as New Compliance AssociateApr 26, 2021
Saint Francis Healthcare is pleased to welcome J. Olivia Simmons, MJ, MPA, CHC as the new Compliance Associate. In this role, Simmons will be responsible for implementing ethics training and supervising the investigation of all compliance and ethics concerns at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett and Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis.
“A significant component of providing safe, high quality healthcare is ensuring our operations, policies and procedures are compliant with all rules and regulations for our industry,” said Sally Deitch, Saint Francis Healthcare Market CEO. “Having Olivia on our team means we have an added layer of support as we grow our culture rooted in ethics and compliance.”
Simmons, a Memphis native, has more than 14 years of experience in healthcare. Her most recent role was at American Lebanese-Syrian Associated Charities where she served as the Senior Specialist and worked closely with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“I have worked in Compliance for many years and one thing I always try to bring to the table is calmness and clarity with a goal of helping do it the right way, the first time,” said Simmons. “I grew up in Memphis, so I am familiar with Saint Francis and what the system means to our community. I am proud to say that I am now a member of the team. My goal is to support the initiatives and growth of the Saint Francis Healthcare team through my role as Compliance Associate.”
Simmons earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Memphis. She then completed a Master in Public Administration from Strayer University and her Master in Jurisprudence Healthcare Law and Policy degree from Loyola University - Chicago. Simmons has received a Certification in Healthcare Compliance from the Health Care Compliance Association and a Certification in Compliance Studies from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.In her spare time, Simmons enjoys listening to the Crime podcast. Together with her husband, she has two children and loves the creativity, courage and resilience that makes up Memphis’ history.
