MEMPHIS, TENN –Saint Francis Medical Partners recently welcomed Physician Assistant Miriam “Abi” Wood to Saint Francis Medical Partners-Gastroenterology. Wood joins Physician Assistants Nikara Kilpatrick and Chris Edens Marcellus in assisting Philip Bowden, M.D.

Wood comes to Saint Francis Medical Partners from Fast Pace Health Urgent Care in Memphis, where she worked as a Physician Assistant. Previously, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare and, before that, a Certified Nursing Assistant at NHC Healthcare in Milan, Tennessee.

“Abi is an excellent addition to our outstanding Gastroenterology team,” said Leslie Malone, Associate Director, Saint Francis Physician Network. “She has experience in diagnosing and treating urgent medical needs in a high-volume environment and working collaboratively with her colleagues to provide quality patient care in a nurturing manner. Wood holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Memphis and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She also earned certification as a Certified Nurse Aide in the Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry.

She completed several clinical rotations, including in Internal Medicine (Inpatient) at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and in Family Medicine (Outpatient and Inpatient) at UT Family Medicine Center in Jackson, Tennessee, among others.
