Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis recently named Joseph Francis as Assistant Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he will work closely with the Market Chief Financial Officer in guiding financial operations for the hospital.

Francis came to Saint Francis-Memphis from Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, a 584-bed hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, where he oversaw financial operations. Previously, Francis worked at Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County, a 134-bed facility in Middleburg, Florida. His leadership at both hospitals played a key role in significantly strengthening financial performance. He initially began his tenure at Ascension within the strategy department, gaining valuable experience in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Francis held roles in operations and finance at a physician-owned multispecialty surgical group and a cardiology group in Jacksonville. He also served in the emergency department in a patient access role for a technology-driven revenue cycle management services company.

“Joseph’s experience in both finance and operations will be a great asset to Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis,” said Scott Smith, Market CEO of Saint Francis Healthcare and CEO of Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis. “He is an outstanding addition to the hospital’s leadership team and shares our commitment to providing the best possible care to every patient, with a clear focus on quality and service.”

Francis earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Health Administration at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. He and his wife, Jenna, recently welcomed a new addition to their family, a baby boy named Tuscan Francis.
