Saint Francis Healthcare Launches In Memphis

Saint Francis Healthcare is the new, locally-based umbrella identity for a broad range of trusted health care services throughout metropolitan Memphis, it was announced today. The umbrella identity includes Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, the Surgery Center at Saint Francis, five Saint Francis Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Centers, Saint Francis Nursing Home and the Saint Francis Senior Healthcare Center.  Saint Francis Healthcare is comprised of 619 in-patient beds, as well as more than 1,000 affiliated physicians and 2,500 employees.
David L. Archer will lead Saint Francis Healthcare and also continue as chief executive officer of Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis.  “We selected Saint Francis Healthcare as the umbrella identity for the wide array of health care services we provide because it reflects the high degree of trust the Saint Francis name has earned in our community,” Archer said. “All the services provided by Saint Francis Healthcare have the same passion, mission, vision and goal: to provide high quality care to the people in the communities we serve.”
Saint Francis Healthcare will launch a series of television and print ads beginning next week. The system will use the Saint Francis Healthcare logo when referring to its presence in the Memphis market.  “Even though we will all be part of Saint Francis Healthcare, every facility will maintain its own name and local identity when referring to specific services offered at that location,” said Kem M. Mullins, chief executive officer at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.
Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis was rated best in the Memphis area in 2006 for cardiology services and GI surgical services, according to a comprehensive study released by HealthGrades, a national consumer health care ratings company. The Memphis hospital received a $26.9 million capital investment which includes renovation of patient rooms; construction of a new, expanded emergency room; and purchase of new advanced medical equipment, including a 64-slice CT scanner and an enhanced digital imaging system for patient care.
Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett will celebrate its third anniversary this year. It has been rated as “Best Hospital” for the past three consecutive years by The Bartlett Express.
