Saint Francis Hospital's stated mission is to heal, support, and comfort all whom we serve in the tradition of Catholic healthcare. Our vision is to make Saint Francis the organization of choice for employees, patients, physicians, and payors.
Saint Francis Hospital is fully committed to its mission, vision and values. We have formed strong relationships with our physicians, patients, employees, payors and vendors. We know that a strong, successful health care system is beneficial to us, to our patients and to our communities.
We welcome your ideas and suggestions. Your input is an important part of our ongoing success as a community-directed health care facility and system.
Saint Francis Hospital opened its doors in 1974 and was the first full-service hospital located in the East Memphis area. Though it has never been owned by the Catholic Church, its creation was the result of Catholic inspiration. Therefore, Saint Francis began operation as a not-for-profit hospital, providing care according to Catholic directives for health care facilities. Today, the hospital is part of the Tenet HealthSystem and is a for-profit institution. However, its Catholic roots continue to influence the way it provides services, as evidenced in its Mission Statement.
The Saint Francis Campus is home to Saint Francis Hospital with 651 beds, the Saint Francis Nursing Home with 197 beds, the Saint Francis Hospital/University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences Family Practice Residency Program building and two multi-story Medical Office buildings.
We have approximately 1000 affiliated staff physicians, 2000 employees and 200 volunteers.
